Responsible gambling: set the limit first

Betting on traffic is entertainment, not income. A round settles in about 55 seconds, so roughly 65 rounds an hour are available around the clock, and the published return of 90.00–92.16 % means the long-run result of staking is a loss of 8 to 10 units in every 100. This page lists the warning signs, the limit tools every operator offers, and where to get free help.

01 · The specific risk

Sixty-five rounds an hour, all night

Most betting products have a natural pause built in: a match lasts ninety minutes, a race is run once. Betting on traffic has none. A Rush Hour round runs for about 55 seconds and the next one starts immediately, which comes to about 65 rounds every hour. The seven city feeds in Tokyo, Lyon, Sydney, London, Paris, Bucharest and Bangkok sit in different time zones, so there is no closing time and there is always a road with traffic on it.

That pace is the risk specific to this genre. A football bettor who loses waits for the next match; a traffic bettor can have the next stake placed before the loss has registered. At 10 units a round, an hour puts 650 units through the game, and the live footage makes time pass without the markers that usually tell you to stop. The feeling that a real street is "readable" makes this worse: watching the flow explains a count after the fact, it does not change the odds on the next round, and treating it as information is the fastest route to chasing.

02 · The arithmetic

90.00–92.16 % is a long-term loss, written as a number

155 Media Studios publishes the return of Rush Hour as a band of 90.00–92.16 %. Read it as a price. For every 100 units staked across many rounds, the long-run expectation is to get back between 90.00 and 92.16 units; the remaining 7.84 to 10.00 units are the operator's margin. No market inside the game sits above that band, and the fact that the number is produced by a real street rather than a random number generator does not move it.

Combine the two figures. At 65 rounds an hour and 10 units a round, the expected cost of one hour is roughly 52 to 65 units, and of a four-hour evening 208 to 260. Individual hours swing far above and below that, which is what variance means, but the direction over time is not in doubt. No staking pattern, feed or time of day turns a 90.00–92.16 % return into a profit.

The only number you control is the total you stake. Decide it before the first round, not after the tenth.

03 · Warning signs

Signs that play has stopped being play

Problem gambling rarely announces itself; it shows up as small changes that are easy to explain away one at a time, and with a format this fast they arrive sooner. Ask yourself whether you raise the stake after a losing round to win it back; whether you have kept a feed open longer than intended, or through the night; whether you hide the time or money spent from someone close; whether you have staked rent, bill or borrowed money; whether you feel restless when not playing; and whether you have tried to stop and not managed it. If two or more describe you, use the tools in the next section today.

ChasingRaising the stake after a miss to get the loss back in the next 55 seconds.
Losing timePlaying through the night because the feed never closes.
Hiding itNot telling a partner or family how much is going in.
Wrong moneyStaking rent, bills or borrowed money on a count.
04 · Limit tools

The tools every operator offers

Stake, Shuffle, Roobet and Betika each provide account-level limits, and they work on Rush Hour as on everything else in the lobby. Set them before you open a feed: a limit set in a calm moment is the only one that holds in a fast one. Lowering a limit takes effect at once; raising one is delayed by a cooling-off period, and that delay is the point. For this format the two that matter most are the session timer, which replaces the break the game does not have, and the loss limit, which caps the arithmetic above at a number you chose in advance. Self-exclusion is the last step and not a failure.

Deposit limitCaps what can be paid into the account per day, week or month.
Loss limitCaps net losses over a period; play stops when the cap is reached regardless of balance.
Session timerEnds the session after a set time. The substitute for a final whistle.
Time-out / pauseLocks the account for 24 hours to six weeks. Use it after a bad night, not before the next one.
Self-exclusionCloses access for six months, a year, five years or permanently. Reversal is not immediate by design.

Risk note. Betting on traffic is entertainment, not income. The published return band of 90.00–92.16 % means that over many rounds the operator keeps 8–10 % of everything staked, and with about 65 rounds an hour those rounds add up fast. Set a deposit and a time limit before you open a feed, never chase a count, and read our responsible gambling page. Help is free at BeGambleAware.org.
